Facebook Image Resizer

Facebook uses different image formats for posts, cover photos, profile images, stories and advertisements. An image that works well for a Facebook post may not have the correct proportions for a cover photo or Story.

EasyTapTools' Facebook Image Resizer lets you upload an image and resize it to a predefined Facebook format or enter your own custom dimensions. The processing happens directly in your browser.

Facebook Image Sizes

  • Facebook Post: 1200 × 630 pixels
  • Square Post: 1080 × 1080 pixels
  • Facebook Page Cover: 1640 × 856 pixels for high-resolution artwork
  • Profile Image: 720 × 720 pixels
  • Facebook Story: 1080 × 1920 pixels
  • Facebook Ad: 1200 × 628 pixels

How to Resize an Image for Facebook

Upload your image, select the Facebook format you need and choose whether the image should fit inside the dimensions, crop to fill the dimensions, or stretch to the exact size.

For most photos, the Fit or Crop modes are preferable to stretching because stretching can distort faces, products and other visual elements.

Fit vs Crop vs Stretch

Fit preserves the entire image but may leave empty space when the original and target aspect ratios are different.

Crop fills the entire target area while removing portions of the original image. This is useful when a specific Facebook format must be filled completely.

Stretch forces the image into the requested dimensions. It should generally be used only when distortion is acceptable.

Why Image Quality Matters on Facebook

Starting with a sufficiently high-resolution image helps preserve detail after resizing and Facebook processing. Extremely small source images may become blurry when enlarged.

Does This Tool Upload My Image?

No. The resizing operation is performed using your browser's canvas functionality. The image does not need to be uploaded to EasyTapTools for the basic resizing process.
